Students from Lucius and Tom’s 5th grade class “took the stage” in front of an audience of parents, administrators and fellow 5th grade students in a TCS Poetry Slam on Oct. 1st.
The celebration of poetry writing and performance featured the live presentation of original works from all 22 students that ranged from iMovies set to voice-overs, to poems written from the first person perspective of Batman and the Flash. Everyone participated in the Poetry Slam in some way, including amazing parent volunteers who lent their experience to help organize the event and create the perfect “speak-easy” atmosphere.
Super heroes and super powers are an overriding theme for the school year in Lucius and Tom’s classroom and at the TCS Poetry Slam, students had the chance to put their super courage, bravery and originality on display!
