Opportunities to explore, learn and create continue until 6:00 p.m. at The Children’s School! Brave learners in our community, including TCS students and students from local schools, have even more chances to explore their favorite passions and discover new ones with our Extended Day program.
Students from Morningside Elementary, Springdale Park, Mary Lin and Classical Academy join TCS day school students in Discovery and EPIC, giving everyone involved the chance to build friendships outside of their own schools. All extended day families become a part of the TCS community and participate in schoolwide events, professional offerings for parents, and much more.
“Our Extended Day students are a diverse group of learners who are creative, collaborative risk takers,” says Christy Robinson, director of extended day and summer learning. “Our after-school activities align with our day program in many ways, giving these students the chance to experience project-based learning, responsive classrooms, Building Character and Community (BCC) programs, and so many offerings that make TCS such a special place to learn and grow.”
Extended Day program students can also take part in a multitude of special activities, including Amazing Athletes, Splash on Literacy, Gymnastics with Gilda, entrepreneurial development, student-created clubs and much more.
Partnerships with Piedmont Park and the Museum of Design allow our Extended Day students to learn through the joy of playing together after school, all while making new friends with students from local schools. Students age 3 through grade 8 and their families know that the TCS Extended Day program is a wonderful place to keep learning and discovering after the school day has officially ended.
