Lucius and Michelle’s fifth-grade class stepped outside of the classroom for some hands-on learning at the Center for Civil and Human Rights today where they learned more about the civil rights museum and human rights around the world.
“It’s such a powerful experience for the students,” said Lucius.
The students toured all three floors of the museum and saw and interacted with exhibits that told the story of the brave fight for equality during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s; read about some of the people fighting for human rights; and read through Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s personal papers and items.
“I think the museum was really cool,” said Abraham.
