Donna Schiele started at TCS earlier this month as the interim associate director of Extended Day and Summer Learning (EDSL). She is a veteran teacher and administrator, and a two-time “Teacher of the Year” award winner in two different states! Her husband was in the military so her family moved a lot. She’s has taught in North Carolina, South Carolina, Indiana and even Seoul, Korea. In Georgia, she’s taught in Augusta, Cobb County, Gwinnett County and Douglas County.
Donna is a proud graduate of Hampton University and the University of Indianapolis. She has strong ties to The Children’s School with family who have attended and worked here as far back as the ’80’s.
Donna is also an on-air radio talent here in the city and a voice-over artist/actor. She has two amazing sons: one is in the Navy and one is a sports broadcaster in Tampa who is getting married next year!
What are you most excited about this year?
Working with the EDSL teachers and supporting them as much as I can!
Where is your favorite vacation spot?
If it has water and white sand, I’m there!
Which fictional character would you most like to meet? Probably Ramona from the Ramona Quimby books by Beverly Cleary. I always loved those books growing up and reading them to my classes. She seems like she would be a lot of fun!
