On April 27, The Children’s School was admitted to the Metro Atlanta Athletic Association (MAAC) during the Athletics Directors meeting opening up more athletic opportunities for TCS students in grades 6 – 8 (fifth-grade students may be able to play in special cases)!
We were a provisional member for this school year and couldn’t compete in championship tournaments, but now TCS will be an official participant and voting member of MAAC starting next school year.
Now that we’re official MAAC members, we will have a consistent competition schedule for each sport and season, we will be invited to all championship tournaments, and our student-athletes will be exposed to a great athletic level of competition. High school coaches will observe games and potentially recruit student-athletes for their school and program.
MAAC also offers a multitude of sports in which TCS can compete, including cross country, volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis, golf, track & field, softball, flag football, and could soon add ultimate frisbee and rowing (crew) to the list of sports.
Wolf Pack MAAC student-athletes will compete against other student-athletes from local schools like Midtown International School, Cliff Valley, Atlanta Girls’ School, Atlanta International School, Atlanta Classical, Galloway, Holy Spirit Prep, Intown Community, Atlanta Jewish Academy, and St. Martin’s Episcopal.
I’m really looking forward to growing as a school and athletic program. TCS has many fine athletes on campus, and I can’t wait to see our student-athletes shine, grow, lead and excel.
Go Wolf Pack!
Coach Rob
