Meet Jen, one of our new middle grades teachers!
About Jen
I’m an Atlanta area native and an alumnus of UGA and GSU (a cat-dog?). I believe all kids deserve an education that is humanizing and equitable. That’s my “why” and my life’s work.
What are you most excited about this year?
I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be my full educator self and do teaching and learning the way I know in my heart it *should* be. I am constantly amazed at The Children’s School’s community, the talent of my fellow educators here, and the magic that happens when we make space for children to be children. I’ve already learned so much and look forward to more learning to come. I feel like I have found my people and my home!
When you’re not at school, where can we find you?
Enjoying the outdoors as much as possible which can include rock-climbing with my husband, taking our two dogs to “dog beach” at the creek, or reading a book in a hammock. We’re also always in the middle of some DIY project around the house. We’re HGTV want-to-bes. 🙂
Where is your favorite vacation spot?
I love exploring new places! We pick somewhere new and different each time.
Which fictional character would you most like to meet?
Dumbledore! He is so wise and his leadership style is full of quiet strength. He would be the best mentor ever.
