TCS Atlanta is participating in Homeless at Heart again this year. Homeless at Heart brings powerful notes of love and encouragement to Atlanta’s homeless population by providing them with boxes or bags of goodies and handmade notes from Atlanta children.
Led by fifth-grader Elizabeth, we’re again challenging each class to collect as many toiletries as possible to create Valentine’s Day care packages and notes of love and encouragement for people experiencing homelessness througho
Room parents have sent out a Sign-up Genius for families to commit to bringing in supplies and then help the kids to stuff gallon-size baggies (care packages) and write notes of encouragement to the recipients during Valentine’s Day parties as a party activity.
If you’d like to share stories about homelessness with your kids leading up to the project, please see a list of great books available in the library here.
