There will not be an on-campus service learning project on Earth Day Sat., April 22. Instead, we encourage families to participate in Global Youth Service Day 2017 and celebrate Earth Day by getting involved with one of this weekend’s local service opportunities available to children and families:
- Open Hand Meal Delivery Sat., April 22, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (all ages welcome). Help deliver meals to those who are sick or shut-in due to illness. This is a critical need due to the I-85 closing.
- Live Thrive Atlanta Kids’ Recycle Day, Sat., April 22, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (all ages welcome). Go to your rooms and gather items that you don’t need. Bring your hard-to-recycle items (electronics, old school projects, instruments, batteries, paint, etc.) and participate in various recycling crafts.
Love to give back as a family?
If you’re looking for family-friendly service opportunities over the next few weeks and over the summer, please visit Pebble Tossers’ website where you will find service opportunities that are appropriate for kids of all ages and that reinforce some of the issues we’ve learned about through TCS’s service learning program this year.
