Congrats to Ricky and his 6th grade students for their wonderful presentations on social issues embedded in their collective study of The Outsiders and The Skin I’m In. Students spent time researching their topics, creating multimedia presentations, and preparing for a Q & A session after their presentations.
Visitors from from Georgia State University, and the Center for Civil and Human Rights participated on a panel for the Q & A session and challenged the students to think about their social issues in depth. They were impressed with the 6th graders’ knowledge, public speaking skills, and ability to answer impromptu questions with ease. What a great learning experience for all!
